An American entry has been crowned Silver Stick champion for a second straight year as Detroit Honeybaked marched to a perfect 7-0 record, outscoring opponents 43-8 on their way to their fourth Minor Midget title following past triumphs in 2005, 2011 and 2014.

Honeybaked defeated in-state rival Detroit Compuware 7-0 in Sunday’s championship final, wrapping up the tournament with the event’s three leading scorers in Frank Nazar (8-7–15), Max Namestnikov (6-7–13) and Cam Vansickle (6-6–12).

The Quinte Red Devils were the lone Ontario club to reach the semi-finals as they rose to number one on the weekly OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour Top-10 Rankings. Quinte played to an overall record of 4-2, being led by top scorer Dalyn Wakely (2-4–6).

Ontario-based teams to reach the quarter-finals included the Toronto Titans, London Jr. Knights and Toronto Marlboros.

While Detroit Honeybaked isn’t currently slated to compete in the 2020 OHL Cup Powered by Under Armour, members of the program have competed on the American entry TPH Hockey in past years.
