Romano’s hat trick sends Jr. Canadiens to Semi-Finals

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens remain undefeated, improving to 5-0 at the 2023 OHL Cup with a 4-1 Quarterfinal win over the London Jr. Knights on Saturday morning.
Down 1-0 after the first, Toronto’s Luca Romano (2, 3, 4) netted a pair of goals before Nico Addy (4) added another on the power play. The Jr. Canadiens would be given a penalty shot later in the third, as Romano completed the hat trick to send JRC into the next round.
“It felt great to be such a big contributor for my team this morning. I haven’t been having as much success as I would like throughout the tournament, but I’m happy that I came through today. My linemates were amazing and we’re excited to head into the semis,” said Romano.
“We’re going to stick to the way we’ve been playing and do our best. The plan is to come out hard because Waterloo has been a good team.”
Romano earned himself BARDOWN Player of the Game for the Jr. Canadiens, while Parker Snelgrove (3) took home the honours for London, scoring the Jr. Knights’ lone goal of the game.
The Jr. Knights OHL Cup action comes to an end with a record of 3-2. They were led offensively by Aiden Young (6-2–8), while Snelgrove (3-3–6) was also a big contributor.
JRC will face the Waterloo Wolves in the first Semi-Final matchup at 6:00pm tonight.
