Petes dominate Don Mills to stay perfect at OHL Cup

The OMHA champion Peterborough Petes remain undefeated at the 2023 OHL Cup after defeating the Don Mills Flyers 6-1.
The Petes brought the energy from the drop of the puck with Josh Avery (2) opening the scoring just 3:19 into the opening frame. Nate Curson (1), Graydon Jones (1), Kayden Buller (2), and Andrew MacNiel (1) also found the back of the net, while Will McFadden (2) added a goal along with a pair of assists.
Avery spoke on tomorrow’s game-plan as the Petes look to clinch their third victory saying, “It’s nice to get those two points tonight. We plan to stick to our structure and have a good, strong start tomorrow. We’re going to keep playing our hearts out and doing our best.”
Peterborough outshot Don Mills 39-13.
Curson was named BARDOWN Player of the Game for the Petes following his two-point performance, while Dylan Tsherna (1) scored Don Mills’ lone marker to earn the honours for the Flyers, who fall to 1-2.
The Petes will look to make it three wins on Friday at 8:15am as they take on the Waterloo Wolves (2-1). Don Mills will also have an early start, returning to action against the Northern Ontario Hockey Association (1-2) at 8:00am.
