Jr. Canadiens come back strong in 7-3 triumph

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens didn’t allow their hard-fought 3-2 loss to the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs on Tuesday deflate them, rebounding for a 7-3 victory over the Niagara North Stars on Wednesday.
Toronto outperformed a Niagara North squad playing its third game in two days as Matthew Falls and Dirk Stadig scored twice while captain Ryan Merkley had a goal and two assists in the win.
“I think we needed that one tonight,” said Falls after the win. “It was a tough loss to Hamilton and not the way we wanted to start our week. Getting out there and scoring some goals early got our guys back in the swing of things and we went from there.”
The Jr. Canadiens put the Stars in a hole early, scoring goals 22 seconds apart inside the opening five minutes of the first period. They carried a 4-1 lead into the intermission en route to a win that improves their record to 1-1 through two days of action.
Jaleel Adams provided two goals for Niagara North while Hunter Holmes added to his four points from a morning victory over Thunder Bay with a goal and an assist.
The Jr. Canadiens are off until Friday while Niagara North takes on the Waterloo Wolves in a Thursday clash.
