Gerber nets winner as Wolves win overtime thriller

Brendan Gerber (2) scored with 0.7 seconds left in overtime to give his Waterloo Wolves a 3-2 win over team NOHA.

Sam Black (1) scored the Wolves first goal, and Brady Martin (2) found the back of the net in back-to-back games with another wicked shot on the power play.

“I wasn’t sure how much time was left, got into the offensive zone, and Brady (Martin) told me to take it to the net. I was just happy we were able get those big two points,” said Gerber, describing the game winning goal.

Corey Lacroix (1, 2) had both goals for team NOHA, while goaltender Nathan Maguire made 38 saves on 41 shots to earn BARDOWN Player of the Game.

Waterloo faces the Don Mills Flyers tomorrow morning at 10:30am in their third game of the showcase. While NOHA will meet the Mississauga Rebels at noon tomorrow.
